The Old Oak Community & Children’s Centre celebrated their 4th Annual Fun Day on Saturday 21 July. It proved to be a huge success with over 350 people from the local community attending.

There was something of interest for everyone including Zumba sessions, a table top sale, nail and hair bar, face painting and rodeo bull. The event started with an ‘ Old Oak’s Got Talent Show’ this was a chance for users of the centre to showcase what they have been doing at the centre over the last 12 months. It was followed by an Olympic obstacle course, horse and cart rides, bingo sessions, African dance and an animated show called ‘Alien Olympics’.

This was created by children aged 8-12 years from the afterschool IT classes. We owe a big thank you to our Friendship Forum group who provided the catering and helped to organise the event. An upcoming awards ceremony will take place to mark the outstanding successes/achievements made by centre users and community members shortly. Watch this space.
