Our homes

Old Oak Housing offers a range of properties in the East Acton area.

Most of our properties are two or three bedroom houses, but we also have studio and one bedroom properties, as well as a very limited number of larger houses.

Better homes for now and the future

In the years  following the transfer of the housing stock to us, we successfully completed a regeneration programme of our properties which transformed our neighbourhood, and improved the lives of our residents. The program was extensive and involved an investment of around £23 million, funded in part by government grant, but largely via investment by Family Mosaic (then Family Housing Association).

The program included new front doors, roofing works, replacing single glazed with double-glazed windows, repointing and replacement of guttering where necessary. Following a detailed survey, which included taking fully on board tenant opinion & preference, some properties were extended, whilst others were reconfigured to better meet family needs. A specific part of the budget was also set aside for aids & adaptations for those tenants who required them, due to mobility issues as a result of disability, other health issues or due to older age.

As some of our tenants chose not to have major works at the time of the regeneration project, Old Oak Housing continues to modernise properties as and when they are vacated. This ensures that our stock is always up-to-date and to a high standard.
The properties we manage at Heathstan Road, on behalf of Family Mosaic, are a mixture of social rented, leasehold and keyworker (allocated to people in certain professions) properties. These are mainly flats, although we also have a few houses designed for larger families. The homes at Heathstan Road include a small number of flats adapted for people with disabilities.

Partnership working

Old Oak Housing seeks to ‘Improve homes and the environment, creating healthy communities where all residents can thrive’ to this end, and through partnership working we are able to hold a number of events throughout the year which actively engage the community and create a sense of cohesion.

Partnership working is key to our success and allows us to continue to facilitate the community in its own development making Old Oak a strong, vibrant place to live where people and families can thrive.
